
The dual well thread should provide the right features for each deck discussed therein. HS copy can be avoided so this point is irrelevant, thus only 4 grades.

The user should pick up one feature he considers less essential and search for a deck having the others. Whether maintaining a cassette library or making new recordings, Marantz Professional makes it easy to create, copy and digitize cassette-tape media with this dual-well recorder/player. 3/4 is however not a bad score, considering that many single well do not even score 3. These being said, one can see there is no dual well deck that covers all the criticisms. And some are even better, like Pioneers DR "digital reverse" like CT-W806DR. Many TOTL decks have even full autocalibration (eg AutoBLE XD). There are dual well decks that employ a special algorithm to minimize the quality losses at high speed dubbing, like the TOTL Sonies. There are dual well decks that have more or less a constant azimuth, even if autoreverse, like Pioneer, or with stationary heads (like Dragon or reverse walkmans) like Dual C839. There are dual well decks that are not autoreverse, in particular the first ones (but also the last ones like Pyle/Renkforce). If the heads are still dirty, use a cotton swab moistened with cleaning fluid. Use a dry cotton swab to clean the surface of the pinch roller, play/recording head and erase-head.
